Since Mr Sunder Pichai, has made it to the top post at Google Inc.there has been a lot of talk of others like Satya Nadella,Ms noorie,Sanjay jha, etc who are heading top corporation in the world.There has been talk of how had these people stayed with in India, they may have not made it big as our system does not support brilliance. It may be partially true,but a larger question comes to mind .These guys have those have made it large are the product of an education system which starting from schooling, put pressure on the children to excell.The strictness in schools insured a minimum standard of performance academically.getting into good institutes was difficult hence students worked hard for it.these were the eighties and early nineties. Than came brilliant people like Kapil sibel and revolutionized our education system.We went about reducing 'pressureon kids'.Tenth class exam became a farce, any and everybody who had money ,could set up schools,collages,engineering collages no less.Incompetent people heading,what we culturally called temples of learning.A whole generation is lost,we are churning out graduates,who the industry says are unemployable.The west read America,who was finding competing with Indian graduated impossible was able to change our education system so beautifully, that we no longer pursue excellence. Some one needs to take note,and make changes fast,or we are in trouble.
