Sitting in the verandah   240612

Sitting in the verandah,

I look out of the door

And see people passing by

And see time passing by.

Looking closely
They are moments,hours and years..
I feel i have not aged
I feel just yesterday i was 20

Fighting on many fronts
Trying to streamline my life
Trying to steer the boat
Trying it to be steady.

So much needed to be done
So much needed to be taken care of
A sister, a mother, a home an office.
Did it valiantly, put everything to it
Did it work!

Sitting in the verandah,
I look in
The toll has been taken
I am but a broken man

The years have gone by
But nothing has changed
For me

I still have to worry
about children, wife, house, office

There definitely is more to life
There definitely was more to me...
